Dementia Friendly South Loop

Member of the Dementia Friendly America Network

The South Loop was designated a Dementia Friendly Community in 2021.

The South Loop Village was the Champion organization in attaining this designation.

To date, we have trained 400+ residents of the South Loop & Bronzeville to be Dementia Friends.

South Loop Village hosts a Memory Café twice monthly:

2^nd Thursday of the month at 1 PM at the Second Presbyterian Church, 1936 South Michigan Ave.

4^th Tuesday each month at 2 PM on Zoom (Register Here)

A Memory Café is a social gathering for persons living with dementia and their care partner to come together, enjoy each other and have fun! During each café there is music, exercise, activities focused on cognition and camaraderie.
